South Korea |

South Korea had signed the Armistice, as well as the other countries that signed it as well. Syngman Rhee had demands that he would sign the Armistice if he had the support of the U.S. After the war, peace talks took place for two years and both countries got what they wanted. The U.S. supported South Korea by funding them, rebuilding their government and much more. If the U.S. had not came into the war, the entire Korean peninsula would have been under a communists regime.

The Unites States intention to enter the war was to contain communism. After the war, the U.S. had supported the South Koreans by funding them with supplies and strengthen their government. The U.S. was a important combatant to win the war against communism in the Korean peninsula. The United States had been in the two year peace talks after the fighting had ending in the Korean peninsula.
North Korea |
|
The Korean War was a civil war between the people of Korea, when the Japanese military had collapsed in the Pacific Theater, so did the colonies Japan had. Once Korea was free, Korea wanted to have the country to be either communist country or not. South of Korea did not want to be communists, so the two countries split which then resulted to North Korea invading the South. Once the fighting had stopped, peace talks had carried on for two years. The POWs in North Korea had the choice to go where ever they wanted.

China was only brought into the war because Douglas MacArthur was over confident that he could take the Korean peninsula back. The Chinese had supplied the North Koreans with troops firearms and helped them plan and coordinate attacks.During the peace talks China was only able to back out of the war if South Korea and North Korea had a compromise.
